John Forster is currently the Executive Partner of Shelston IP. He joined the firm in 1999 after more than 25 years experience as a patent attorney and partner with major IP firms in both Australia and in New Zealand.
John works mainly in the areas of patent and design protection, from advice and drafting through to opposition and infringement proceedings, as well as advising on intellectual property portfolio management.
With a background in mechanical engineering, John's wide range of technical knowledge enables him to meet the needs of a diverse client base. He acts for clients in mining, mineral processing, food handling and packaging, automotive engineering, marine engineering, metal forming, building construction, building services, injection moulding, and product design.
John enjoys his young family but still hopes to find more time to go sailing.
