Andrew Lockhart has been a trade mark specialist with Shelston IP since 1998 and a partner since 2000. Andrew provides advice to clients in the areas of trade mark protection, trademark searching, strategic trademark portfolio management, brand architecture and licensing. He is also an experienced advocate in trademark oppositions, infringement and other actions.
With degrees in law and science (biochemistry), Andrew has practised as a qualified solicitor since 1987 and is also a registered Australian Trade Marks Attorney. Prior to joining Shelston IP he worked at another large firm of Australian trade mark attorneys and before that in a large general law practice specialising in commercial and property law.
Andrew has over 15 years experience in all aspects of trademark and copyright law and manages several large trademark portfolios for Australian and overseas clients. He has also completed a number of branding courses with the Australian Graduate School of Management and the University of Sydney. He has experience in all areas of trade marks in the pharmaceutical, medical, biotech, cosmetic, food and beverage, mining and building sectors.
Andrew enjoys competitive sailing and snow skiing. At other times he is kept busy by two young children.
