Linda King joined the firm in 1999 and became a partner in 2000. She heads the litigation and alternative dispute resolution team of Shelston IP, specialising in both enforcement and protection of intellectual property in Australia and overseas. She is admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor both in Australia and New Zealand and has practised and appeared in the Federal and High Courts of Australia.
Linda has extensive experience and recognised expertise in intellectual property litigation and dispute resolution. Her work includes: patent enforcement, including defending the validity of patents; defending patent enforcement proceedings; design infringement litigation; copyright infringement litigation; product liability litigation and advice on product liability; Trade Practices Act infringement proceedings; anti-piracy work, in particular obtaining and executing urgent injunctions; and mediation and arbitration in various states and overseas.
Her other areas of practice include: trade practices, including consumer protection law; product liability, approval and recalls; and advice on the regulation of technology-based products such as genetically modified goods, therapeutic goods, drugs, poisons and cosmetics.
Linda works extensively with local and international intellectual property organizations. She is a former committee member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ).
Linda is an accomplished equestrienne and also enjoys opera and theatre.
