Scott Philp joined Shelston IP in 1999 and works primarily in the areas of patents and design protection. He specialises in drafting patent specifications, prosecuting patent applications and providing validity and infringement advice.
As a mechanical engineer, Scott has expertise in a wide range of technical areas from thermodynamics to systems control. He wrote his honours degree thesis on dynamic simulation and engineering design. Scott's commerce major was in accounting with an emphasis on finance and computer science. He has particular experience in manufacturing and mining engineering, foodstuff production and recycling systems. His commerce degree also provides Scott with an appreciation for commercial accounting and finance considerations.
Additional experience includes biomedical engineering, plastics technology, and building materials.
Scott is a keen runner and cyclist.
