Gareth Dixon is a Registered Patent Attorney of both Australia and New Zealand.  He joined Shelston IP in 2003, and specialises in the drafting and prosecution of chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnological patents.

Gareth’s technical area of expertise is organic and bio-organic chemistry.  His PhD explored the synthesis and characterisation of a class of highly strained, supra-natural product hydrocarbons.  This work has been widely published throughout the scientific literature.

Prior to joining Shelston IP, Gareth became foundation-level qualified in the UK.  He has since completed a Masters Degree in IP law at the University of Technology, Sydney, and is presently taking steps to complete his general law degree.  He is also a regular contributor of articles to various IP-related publications.

Outside the office, Gareth’s interests are rugby, cricket and fitness.  He also talks a good game of golf.
