"Being an inventor myself, perhaps the most satisfying aspect of my job is helping others to capture their inventions, and then securing IP rights in Australia and abroad. Every day I get to witness new technologies as they’re being developed. That’s awesome. "

After completing post graduate studies, I spent the first part of my career working in research, technology and product development laboratories for companies including Dulux and James Hardie.

I joined Shelston IP as a Trainee Patent Attorney in mid 2004 and immediately started studying a Masters in Intellectual Property. By 2006 I was registered as a patent and trade marks attorney and was in time promoted to Associate and now Senior Associate.

What I like about working in an intellectual property firm is that it allows me to fuse my interest in chemistry and manufacturing in a commercial environment, not just hidden away in a lab.
