I joined Shelston IP as a Trainee Patent Attorney in 2006, fresh out of university.

I’d studied finance and econometrics and telecommunications engineering so when the opportunity presented itself for me to go into patents, particularly in the electronics and ICT space, it was an interesting avenue for utilising my engineering expertise.

In 2016 I was promoted to Senior Associate.

What I enjoy most about my job is helping smaller entities commercialise their inventions.

Despite the importance of what we’re often doing on a day-to-day basis, it’s a pretty easy going workplace which suits me just fine.

A highlight that sticks in my mind in my time at Shelston IP was being sponsored to travel to Shanghai for a course in Chinese patent law.
